Life is better under an IBEW Contract!

That's an agreement between us, the employees and the company we work for, spelling out our wages, benefits and rights.

Successful people in all kinds of work would not consider working without a contract. Chances are, if we are working for a Corporation, the CEO has a written contract defining his wages and benefits. Why shouldn't we?

While most of us like to think that we have worth and cannot be easily replaced, the truth is that in today's society most workers do not have much negotiation power. We are not "Michael Jordans" with specialized skills that cannot easily be replaced and therefore cannot effectively negotiate with our bosses for what we deserve.

The Union Advantage

That's where a union comes in!  With a union, we are not negotiating with the boss as one person; we are negotiating as one with our fellow workers. As one of many, we have POWER! That's why most companies resist unions in their workplace. They know that with a union they have to listen.

A good contract insures that we are protected from unfair treatment and have job protections such as seniority. By bargaining collectively, we are insured that we are getting the best wages and benefits possible from our employer.

The IBEW represents thousands of workers in all kinds of jobs and with many different skills.

With the IBEW You Will:

  • Have a voice in your workplace
  • Have a signed Labor Agreement with the Company
  • Negotiate wages and benefits
  • Have the ability to negotiate rules for overtime distribution, vacation selection and promotions (and other employment issues)
  • Have a negotiated grievance procedure

You have everything to gain and nothing to lose.
